Our Little Heroes aims to provide a cohesive and strategic approach to meeting the needs of children who are affected by family separation during periods of the deployment cycle and the unintentional disadvantages of service life.
There are currently some 175,000 Service Children with little independent representation. The emphasis of the work is upon the wellbeing of children and improving their life experiences and chances.
We would envisage working nationally, using research and evaluation, multi-agency collaboration, to help inform, stimulate debate and influence policy to deliver solutions to issues unique to Service Children. Funding has been secured from an independent Grant in Aid organisation and Army Benevolent Funds in order to pilot the idea in East Anglia. Children serve too is the philosophy that underpins the organisation.
